At the 2020 Global Day of Action in Calabar, we discussed the present drug laws in the country with different stakeholders in the city. The current drug policies were critically analysed and reviewed. A panel discussion was set-up where each stakeholders presented their view and a consensus was reached at which centres on the philosophy of Support. Don’t Punish for people who use drugs. The discussion was also streamed live with participants at the physical venue. Also, the government drug agency, partners and stakeholders present pledged to implement SupportDontPunish strategies in dealing with people who use drugs. At the end of the event a brief campaign was carried out around the women development centre in Calabar where SSDP members advocate for sensible drug policy in the city.
