Psychoactive Art Competition

Mexico City, CDMX, Mexico 2023

Leading organisation: Latinoamérica por una política Sensata de Drogas México

LPSD is a non-profit organisation that has been working for almost a decade to change drug policy in Mexico and over the past three years we have expanded to other countries throughout the region.

For the past three years, our organisation has been running an online Psychoactive Art Contest with the intention of supporting artists of all styles to express themselves on drug policy reform, risk and harm reduction, as well as alternatives to prohibition.

Thanks to the community we have built on social media, the event was a success. Many artists from all over the region participated, and thanks to our LPSD chapters in different countries such as Costa Rica, Venezuela, Ecuador, Argentina, Mexico, Colombia, among others, and the invited judges (local artists and colleagues from the organisation) we selected the three winners.

The Art Contest is a completely online event. On this occasion the theme selected for the contest will be “Psychedelia”. LPSD will hold the fourth edition of the Psychoactive Art Competition in 2023 and award the best works that make visible the need for alternatives to prohibition.
