Day of Action 2017

In São Paulo, civil society organisations convened a public debate between academics, civil society and State authorities on the recent closure of the harm reduction and social programme, “De Braços Abertos”, and how to ensure that the drugs response remains health-orientated and respectful of the human rights of people who use drugs. A video on the merits of “De Braços Abertos” was produced, with the involvement of a resident of “cracolândia”. Cards with summarised information about the rights of people detained in relation to their drug use were produced and distributed to people in the area.
