There will be an advocacy visit to religious leaders to advocate for drug users around the theme of the global campaign “Support do not punish”. There will also be a television broadcast, on social networks, of the advocacy message of the religious and the captain of the national football team around the theme of the campaign for political decision-makers. Additionally there will be a caravan of care in the smokehouses provided by the REVS PLUS Medical Center clinic with the possibility of testing for HIV and hepatitis. For the second activity, a production company will film and edit the message of the religious and the captain of the national football team whose media will then be broadcast on national television.

2018

The group showed a series of films on political personality (Minister of the security), sports (captain of the football team), along with religion and community that were then shown on national television and social media. The group also made t-shirts and organised an HIV/Hepatitis screening campaign in the smoking rooms.

Day of Action 2017

In Ouagadougou (Burkina-Faso), advocates organised a visit to the Parliament Select Committee on Drugs, and to the law enforcement agency, between 25-27 June.

2016

Day of Action 2016

In Bobo-Dioulasso, the event on 26th June included many activities including a press conference involving the media, defence and security forces, as well as current and former drug users. The film by the West Africa Commission on Drugs was screened, and followed by debates with the students of the gendarmerie school. A visit was also made to the Bobo’s house of detention and correction, followed by a football game between inmates and security guards.
